Resort Description

Are is Sweden's number one ski resort and deservedly so. It offers an excellant snow record from November to May and a superb ski area in a beautiful setting stretching 10km along Are's frozen lake. The unspoilt scenery is overwhelming and encompasses low sweeping mountains, pine clad forrests and colourful villages dotted accross the landscape.

The main resort consists of four main accomodation bases and ski areas and all are linked by a free ski bus. Each area is suited to different levels and abilites and as a result Are attracts a wide variety of skier.

In resort activites include cross country and night skiing, heli skiing, pony treks, parapenting, dOG-Sledding tobogganing, ice fishing, ice driving, ice karting and trips to the frozen waterfall and ice caves.
