Resort Description
Risoul and Vars are part of the La Foret Blanche ski area the largest in the Southern French Alpes. The area boasts a good snow record and a fantastic sunshine record. Risoul is a compact resort with many traditional chalet-style buildings, and Vars is larger with a good range of amenities. Both resorts are purpose built yet are still attractive and sit in a woodland setting. The ski area is great for mixed ability groups with some wide open sunny nursery slopes for the beginners and some more challenging reds and blacks for the more intermediate skiier. For the advanced it is a bit more limited however even the more seasoned skier will find the mogul fields and off piste a challenge.
Apres ski is livley and informal with a good number of popular bars to choose from. Eating out is surprisingly good value and there is a good choice to suit every palet.
