Resort Description

The purpose-built resort of Avoriaz is set in the Portes du Soleil, the largest linked ski area in the world; encompassing 650K of high altitude pistes! From Avoriaz you have the opportunity to ski both in France and at Morzine in Switzerland!

The Portes du Soleil offers some of Frances most challenging skiing. Will you dare to try the hair-raising Les Hauts Forts World Cup Downhill run? A seemingly endless selection of routes will test intermediates and beginners are well served by a choice of nursery slopes. Avoriaz is one of Europes leading snowboarding destinations, featuring regularly in the sports magazines. Quality snowboarding tuition is available.

Traffic-free Avoriaz is characterised by bold, modern architecture. Morzine, by contrast, is a picturesque old town, oozing character, and is well worth a visit. The aprs-ski in Avoriaz is vibrant and theres a vast choice of restaurants, from pizzerias to quality gourmet establishments.

Non-ski activities in Avoriaz include squash, bowling, ice-skating, curling and sleigh rides. You can also soak up the excitement at an ice hockey match in Morzine.

Avoriaz is a unique holiday experience, combining first class skiing with the chance to visit two contrasting towns in two different countries!
